whoever said it first, i truly believe this! 

several months ago i had the chance to listen to my friend, christy, speak about the importance of female friendships. i left there feeling inspired, and very thankful for my friends.  growing up i would watch my mom and her girlfriends chit chatting about this and that and planning weekend get aways.  i am grateful she taught me that girlfriends are a must.  i know my life is way more fun and definitely fuller with my gal pals!

i love how these turned out! they remind me of an OP rainbow shirt  i used to have in sixth grade . . .  which reminds me of the roller rink, which reminds me of my first kiss, which makes me wonder whatever happened to boy i kissed {note to self: don't let cleo go to a roller rink in 6th grade wearing a rainbow shirt}

what do you say to a mom whose daughter died a year ago?  do you tell her that a day doesn't go by that you don't think of her? do you tell her you miss her too? do you send more pictures? tell more stories?  did you know they make anniversary cards for death? i found two, but i wouldn't send either of them to a mom whose daughter died AND who I have known for over 20 years and have thought of every day since february 17, 2011.

with valentine's day right around the corner i wanted to share a couple cards from my collection

1. a valentine my mom gave her grandparents

2. a die cut valentine that was given to my grandpa from his teacher

3. still friends with her after all these years

4. i love seeing my mom's hand writing from when she was a child 

and the sweet little illustration she included

5. my mom had a very special relationship with her grandma
